breast plays a major role in the body image, the feeling of being
feminine, sexy, and attractive. Cosmetic surgery of the breast
is not about being vain; rather it is about looking and feeling
good about your body image.
Breast enhancement
surgery is an art. Anybody can put in an implant or nip and tuck,
but only an experienced plastic, cosmetic surgeon, with excellence
in artistry of cosmetic breast surgery can deliver the results
you desire. When we think of breast enhancement surgery we think
of three surgical procedures:
1. Breast lift- Mastopexy
The breast sags down
as a result of stretching from breast-feeding, weight loss and
gravity. If the size of the breast is adequate, then reshaping
and lifting the breast is all that is needed. The incisions
for such procedures can vary depending on the magnitude of the
droopiness of the breast. Small to moderate lifts require a
small incision around the areola with possibly a small, vertical
incision. To minimize the amount of scarring, the procedure
should be discussed with a plastic, cosmetic surgeon who is
familiar with all the new procedures and technology.

2. Breast Lift with Enlargement-
Mastopexy and Augmentation
When the desire is
to lift the breast and enhance the size, in an effort to define
the curves, improve body image, these two procedures are performed
simultaneously. Breast enhancement surgery can lift the breast
to a certain degree by breast enlargement only. Further enlargement
and lift can be achieved through the use of a breast implant.
Every possible opportunity and technique should be used to minimize
the scar. Breast lift with breast augmentation requires only
an incision around the areola.

3. Breast Enhancement-
Augmentation
The appropriate breast
size can define the female curves and body shape, in relation
to waist size and hip size. The appropriate breast size can
also, enhance our body image, improve our sex appeal, and change
the way we present our image to the outside world. This has
great impact on our jobs, job availability, relationships and
own person. Breast augmentation utilizes the use of breast implant.
Saline filled implants are used. However under certain circumstances
silicone gel implants can be used. These issues will be discussed
with the patient and, the appropriate decision will be reached
with the patient.
