Lower Body Lift

It takes a skilled and experienced cosmetic surgeon to offer the state-of-the-art sculpting and rejuvenation of the lower body. This includes aesthetic units of the abdomen, medial thighs, lateral thighs, buttocks and hips.

Aesthetic units are studied and analyzed individually and together for aesthetic appearance and major defects. This will enable the surgeon to develop a plan to appropriately repair each aesthetic unit and create an aesthetically pleasing and harmonious body.

The Abdomen

Analysis of the abdomen includes fatty deposits, their position and estimated amount. The amount of laxity in the rectus muscles and the hair distribution in the pubic region should also be taken into account. If a tightening procedure is needed for the skin and muscles, the extent and position of the incision should be well-planned. The surgeon must also determine whether liposuction is needed.

Localized fatty deposits can be liposuctioned, a procedure that is most accurately done using ultrasonic liposuction. This will also decrease the thickness of fat in the abdominal skin. Laxity of the muscles are repaired by tightening these muscles with appropriate sutures and are placed to achieve the desired result of fine, smooth curves as well as a balanced waist and hip. Some patients may require the use of the oblique muscles of the abdomen to achieve such a balanced waist-hip ratio. Excess skin is removed according to planned incisions. Hips, buttocks, medial thighs, lateral thighs and knees may be liposuctioned if needed. This also is aimed at achieving aesthetic, well-balanced curves of the body.

Thighs and Buttocks

The thighs and buttocks are evaluated, and the amount of skin laxity is determined. Medial thighs can be tightened and lifted through an incision high up in the thigh crease, well-hidden from direct view. This can be combined with repair of skin laxity in the lateral thighs and hips by extending the incision from the medial thigh crease around the lateral upper thigh hip area to the mid-back. This approach will lift the lower body, including the abdomen, medial thigh, lateral thigh and buttocks, in one surgical approach, and the scars will be well-hidden. The aesthetic results are superb when done by appropriately trained and certified plastic surgeons.
