Breast > Breast Implant Revision, Removal & Replacement
Breast implant or revision surgery (breast enlargement / breast enhancement) can help you achieve the look that you desire by increasing or decreasing the size and volume of your breasts to the shape you like to have. It is however extremely important to have these procedures done by a competent board certified plastic durgeon because, as with any other type of surgery, there is a certain amount of risk such as post-operative bleeding (hematoma), infection or fluid accumulation (seroma) that could arise.Patients who are considering breast implant surgery should be aware of what short and long-term complications may arise and discuss them with their surgeon.
As with any cosmetic surgery, the results of breast augmentation may not meet your expectations or desired results. The reasons may include desired and actual breast size (too big, too large), scarring, wrinkling (seen or felt), asymmetry, and implant displacement (shifting of implant). These unsatisfactory results can be minimized with a comprehensive pre-operative consultation, good communication with the operating Plastic Surgeon, and careful surgical planning. Dr. Shureih will take the tie to discuss all the options available to you before you undergo breast augmentation.
Because breast implants are prone to complications as well as simple wear and tear over time, it is important that all breast augmentation patients be followed up on a yearly basis by their plastic surgeon to ensure that their breasts are healthy, and the implants are in a good general condition.
For some patients this may mean an annual mammogram or (if necessary) an MRI of the breast, to ensure good BREAST HEALTH. This includes physical examinations as well. Dr. Shureih makes sure to follow up with his breast implants patients on a yearly basis. We never discharge our breast implant patients.
If you have any question regarding your implants or are dissatisfied or your concerns are brushed away by your physician, please do not hesitate to call us for a confidential consultation.
